Immunizations & Vaccines
Vaccine-preventable diseases are at an all-time low, saving untold numbers of lives and millions of dollars in health care costs in Missouri, but this doesn’t mean they have disappeared. Many viruses and bacteria are still circulating and are simply one vacation away, whether going to a foreign country or another state. This is why it is important for all people, young and old, to receive immunizations on time.
Childhood Immunizations
Routine childhood immunizations are available during all routine working hours on a walk in basis.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian when receiving immunizations and a complete immunization history is required before any immunizations may be given.
VFC Program: Participation in the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) provides routine vaccines to those children that otherwise would not have access through their primary care providers. Vaccines through the VFC program are available for those under the age of 19 who have Medicaid, no health insurance or are under-insured in which no vaccinations are covered by their private insurance provider.
A small administration fee is asked for childhood vaccines provided through the VFC program, but the immunizations will not be denied for VFC eligible children due to inability to pay the administration fee.
VaxCare program: Through a partnership with VaxCare, we are again able to provide routine vaccines for children that have private insurance. VaxCare has contracts with many of the private insurance providers and bills the insurance company for the service. A current insurance card will be needed at sign-in and in most cases we are able to let you know if it is a covered service or if there will be a patient responsibility for payment.
Adult Immunizations
Immunizations for adults, age 19 and over, such as Tdap, Td,Pneumococcal, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, HPV, IPV, MMR, Varicella, Meningococcal and Zostavax are available during all routine working hours on a walk-in basis.
VaxCare Program: Through a partnership with VaxCare, we are able to provide the above vaccinations for individuals age 19 and over. VaxCare has contracts with many of the private insurance providers and bills the insurance company for the service. A current insurance card will be needed at sign-in and in most cases we are able to let you know if it is a covered service or if there will be a patient responsibility for payment.
Influenza Vaccine
Influenza vaccinations will be offered each year for anyone age 6 months and over, provided vaccine is available through the VFC program and through VaxCare. The same guidelines as above apply to influenza vaccine. The CDC recommends that all individuals 6 months of age and older receive an annual influenza vaccine.
Miscellaneous Injections with Doctor Order
Other injections such as B12 or other doctor ordered injections require specific arrangements. Our nursing staff can assist you with these arrangements.
